Yes, you're right. Maybe we should add "to your clan donation room" for those
in clans trying to donate so that it's made more explicit? Should be a faster
update than introducing/testing a cdonate.

The donate/gdonate messages show if you used the clan or the global donation
room. Maybe we should change the behaviour so donate goes to the global room
and add a cdonate to use the clan room instead?

For what it's worth, I use gdonate by default, but that's just my own habit.
It might be clearer to replace gdonate with cdonate since we start our lives
without clans, so an explicit clan donate that doesn't look like the gold/QP
one might be better.

Or even roll it into clandonate so that command handles both items and gold?

Identifying the token produces the following preamble before the ID box:

Careful study of this object reveals a secret:
This token can be traded to an immortal in exchange for one summon repop.

If, as Broud says, this is a regular area reset token, we probably do not
need the flavour text, or it should be corrected to tell the user that it
resets an area, without suggesting that an immortal needs to be involved.

To the two suggestions of a CR flag and channel, I think these are already in
place. CRs can be requested on question/answer, gossip, and newbie - adding a
specific CR channel would be just increasing the channel police job scope.

There is also a who from CR convention that isn't used enough, in my opinion.

Maybe Fiendish's idea of a visto all would help. I think it's still useful to
be able to filter visto to hide from those who don't have detects.

I can understand the rationale for disabling yelling in the lasertag arena, but
not why notes and socials are also cut out. Can we at least read, if not write,
notes? Or disable notifications on notes received until after the game, because
I think it is annoying to be notified for a note that one can't read at once.

damtypes (default): lists the primary damage types, eg 'pierce' / 'slash'
damtypes damtype: lists specific damage types for a given primary damtype
@ e.g.: damtypes bash shows 'beating', 'blast', 'pound', ...

I realise this information is essentially in resists, but I think that it
could be useful for people who want a particular damage type for flavour,
if they wanted to wset something unique.

I like the ideas - I'm not going to respond to them in detail yet, but I will
try to remember to.

However, campaigns also allow people to practice for GQs without the pressure
of competition, and can also give insight as to where to go to level next. It
is fairly grindy if one does campaign after campaign in sequence, but that is
really an individual's choice.

I'm looking forward to some of these ideas being implemented alongside normal
campaigns so that they can provide variety while keeping the above reasons to
request a campaign.

(tl;dr): good ideas, tweak numbers, scale maze, vote to restart

First off, I must say that I did not pay Matrim to write that note.
And do not read that in an Arkansas accent.

Second, thanks for the ideas. Let me see if I can address them:

> Lasertag prizes have simply not kept up in relative value.

As someone who is glad just to have a lasertag game at all, this is
definitely not a perspective I'd considered. But I suppose a better
set of prizes might help increase interest. That said, I do think a
better solution is to make encounters more likely during the actual
game so that more action can take place.

> I was thinking that a sliding scale for prizes, as well as a single random
> prize for a random play, would really help increase the popularity of a once
> great and unique mini-game.

I would prefer a sliding scale for maze size, for instance, where a
1v1 duel could start with an 8x8=64 room maze, scaling to 15x15 for
a 5v5 or higher match. Alternatively, and it pains me to say it, we
could vary the decoy limits depending on the size of the team, from
a minimum of 3 concurrent / 5 max as it is now to 5 concurrent / 10
max for smaller games. This would scale inversely with team size of

> One random player in the game, regardless of winning or losing, receives
> a TP/Qreset Token/CP reset/gold at random. TP can be a little rarer.

I think this would work, but maybe keep the prizes as just scrabble
or poker items as you can get the rest from daily blessings. Aarch,
I'm not sure about, I think those could be too valuable to give out
as participation medals.

> Standard team win QP should be increased from 5 to 20.
> The top scorer QP reward should be directly related to the total
> number of entrants into the contest.

I like that, but I think the average qp award from a quest is under
20, so maybe 15 for winning a game and another 20 for top scorer is
better. Maybe both the team and top scorer prizes could be scaled.

Also, to make sure the teams are balanced, maybe skill points based
on, say, normalised hit differential (NHD) can be used:

NHD = ( (hits for - hits against) + (wins - team wins) ) / (games played)

or something like that. The numbers can of course be tweaked.

Also, I sometimes miss a game by a few minutes. If we could vote to
restart a game within five minutes of its cancellation, say only if
we could get at least 4 players involved, that would be great. I am
not suggesting a minimum of 1v1 because it would be easier to get a
single friend to join for the random prize, and a 2v2 game would be
harder to coordinate so.

Looking forward to more discussion :)

I like this idea, it should add interesting skills to heavily-redone t9s.

> paragon tiers get triple exp
> every 10 paragon completions, player can add a paragon skill permanently

I don't agree with this though, the redo tnl is already enough of a perk.
It should be really, really hard to get a new paragon skill, and it could
be something that makes a player truly unique. I don't know, a pmage with
a sort of hammering blow skill to silence rival mages, or whatever. Or it
could be a points system that reduces cooldown on pclass abilities.

> every paragon tier, player dmg vs mob (non hero levels) is reduced 5%
> every paragon tier, player dmg from mobs is increased 5%

I'm not so sure about the damage variations as a form of added cost to do
the paragon tiers, because these will probably be evened out with new EQ.
I think putting benefits on a curve like with instinct/mastery is enough,
the coefficients just need to be tweaked correctly.

We'd need to add instinct/mastery in those new skills as well, and I hope
potential caps remain the same to force advanced players to think more on
the skill combination they want.

If an Imm alt encounters rule breaking, then they have as much right to notify
an Imm as other characters do. When people are very rude, that's fine, it does
happen from time to time, Imms should only take action when rules are broken.

Impuritan's problem was that the MUD was too quiet at the time.

This is, I presume, similar to the problem you have.

No, that's why this should be published and logins limited.

I don't see any benefit to it.

One of the newbies today created a character just to search for their alt. I
was thinking if we had a publicly-known character with 0 stats/inv slots, it
could be used for such cases and still avoid the multiplaying risk.

One would just log on to, say, LostProfile, so that they can check for their
old name. Logging on could be restricted to 10 minutes per IP per day or so.
