It's not like Aard is an RP MUD, so why have 10
different PK clans? Just clutters things up for
no reason.

More to the point, I agree with Fiendish's response that we don't
need to have any more items that allow NOPK clans to compete with
PK clans. Let them be the sole providers of tier EQ, since that's
all there is left to make them attractive, it seems.

I'd like to see more tier EQ than just raid/epic gear, as you and
Tymme seem to agree on, but just leave the PK clans their carrot.

Maybe allow crafters and enchanters to increase item levels up to
one tier below their own, but only if they both worked together.

It's more of a social outlet for me that happens to have fun game-like things
that I can pursue however I want to. Then again, that seems to be my approach
to games in general, so maybe they're not mutually exclusive.

Ingress and Pokemon Go, at least where I play, are more goal-oriented and you
have to pay a price for being a "lone wolf" in that context. You can't log on
and just chat because that's not catered for in the PoGo UI and somewhat of a
hassle in the Ingress UI.

So yeah, it kind of is a "way of life" to log on to Aard, do things the way I
want to, and chat with friends from all around the world. Apart from lasertag
(and maybe mafia) there isn't really much I want to do well at for now.

I agree with Uuna that the money is but a token in the long run, but as the
expectation is unfortunately already there, it is something we will have to
handle when thinking of how to address this situation.

I agree with Wars that the amount of money one can get is exciting, and for
the average player 500k-1M takes a while to rack up, I'd imagine. So it's a
morale booster of sorts, while on the other hand if you got less than other
people did for their leaflet, it can feel a little discouraging. However, I
try to downplay this when I see it, to avoid causing the impression that if
you're "cheated" of your "rightful" reward, you'll be way behind forever.

I'd be in favour of the leaflet returning to inventory after a failed auction,
but otherwise nothing else. It's a gift, you can't expect everyone bidding for

As a constant lasertag promoter, I have to agree with Crowley; I haven't seen a
benefit to announcing each game globally. Maybe the announcements need tweaking
or they should be on global info too, but I seldom have luck even with the ones
I do on gossip/gametalk/ft.

Could we maybe have a games channel announcing mafia/lasertag/poker/lottery for
those who are interested? That way, people who aren't can still turn it off.

magic works is unclear, but you can always attempt to enter the moonrift if
you wish to find out.

This should be added as a custom exit, similar to how the "the" in Nyne was
added as an alternative.

I don't mind Navigator becoming less attractive in comparison, but I don't get
how this is off-theme for Navigator. I think Mentalist and Necromancer focused
on different aspects of mind development, so they shouldn't get this side perk

I think you've got this backwards. Scripts are collections of commands that you
would otherwise already be able to enter one-by-one yourself. If you can script
something that considers the whole room, adds mobs to a queue, and attacks them
one at a time, then your script is already automating things that take too much
effort to be done by hand repeatedly.

If you remove these "grey-area" scripts, people may go back to doing things for
themselves for a while, until they again get tired of doing it by hand. At that
point they're going to recreate those scripts, only with kill npcs, rather than
actual mob names. Then you're back to the grey area.

Those scripts exist, and they won't go away. Would people stop making their own
cexits and runtos and go back to walking each room individually? The option one
has there is the same.

I agree with this. Let's not make it easier to automate and pretend we want
to help VI players. We should prioritise observation, not mindlessness.

And yes, I know I switch off too often with OPK on, but that's different. I
am also working on that.

I was asked to enchant the item before I knew the details of the event. While
I appreciate the idea behind a gift exchange and more fun interaction, I feel
Fiendish is right that this particular theme is a bit off. (If I'm reading in

I agree that options are limited if you are a weaker player, sure. But I feel

and I haven't been the only voice speaking out against this idea. I think the
tiny hope of instantly killing a stronger player is exactly the kind of thing
you wanted to avoid. A lottery.

There's no need for plotting if only the vigilante is left. Can it be turned
off *iff* tombstone is on, since that provides nothing more than a delay?

If no tombstone is on, it could still mislead people into thinking mafia are
still active, which is a good thing to have. But when tombstone is on and it
is clear that no mafia are left, then it doesn't add anything to the game.

I oppose this. If it's truly in demand, it will be bid up. There are people
just starting out who won't be able to afford the 10K starting bid and have
to miss out on useful items; there will also be those who can afford to use

Yes, you're right. Maybe we should add "to your clan donation room" for those
in clans trying to donate so that it's made more explicit? Should be a faster
update than introducing/testing a cdonate.

The donate/gdonate messages show if you used the clan or the global donation
room. Maybe we should change the behaviour so donate goes to the global room
and add a cdonate to use the clan room instead?

For what it's worth, I use gdonate by default, but that's just my own habit.
It might be clearer to replace gdonate with cdonate since we start our lives
without clans, so an explicit clan donate that doesn't look like the gold/QP
one might be better.

Or even roll it into clandonate so that command handles both items and gold?

place. CRs can be requested on question/answer, gossip, and newbie - adding a
specific CR channel would be just increasing the channel police job scope.

There is also a who from CR convention that isn't used enough, in my opinion.

Please allow us to read and write notes while in laser.

I can understand the rationale for disabling yelling in the lasertag arena, but
not why notes and socials are also cut out. Can we at least read, if not write,
notes? Or disable notifications on notes received until after the game, because
I think it is annoying to be notified for a note that one can't read at once.

I would like to not wear my containers by accident any more - I have enough
other things to panic about and I don't need to "lose" my equipment when it
ends up around my waist, for instance.

So I propose being able to spend TP to remove the wear slot for a container
type item, maybe 1TP like adding keywords or 2TP like a restring.
