I am stepping down
Note #1315

  Greetings all,
It's my deepest regret that I must bring you this news today. Due
to real-life work and other real-life issues, I will no longer have the
time or ability to uphold my duties as an Immortal on Aardwolf.

It has been a sincere honor and privilege to have worked alongside
some of the kindest and honorable people.

I wish everyone the best of luck,
Mordist
Thank You

I have decided to step down from the Immortal team. To all who have made my
time on it meaningful and enjoyable, I offer my thanks, as well as the hope
that you will do the same for the Immortals who remain.

Why? This happens what... 2-3 times a year, if even that?
Call for Testers: Mini Epic.
Note #1032

Hi people,

As you may or may not know, there are some mini epic (they'll only take
about 8 people to do) areas in the works on test port. They are not here
on live yet because they are not being tested, because, well, nobody is
testing them. Guess what! You (yes YOU!), can help these come to live port
by testing them. Here are some questions that you might ask, as well as
some excuses you might think of.

*I'm not a SH, so I won't be able to test.
-Yes, you will be able to test. It is very easy to manipulate your
character to have whatever tier, remorts, stats - whatever you want.

*But, I don't know how to test!
-If you can play the game on live, you know how to test. For now, we'll
just make sure that everything works as it should.

*How do I get to test port?
-The address for test port is aardmud.net ( 67.225.158.192 ) port 6555 .

*I tried to log in, but it wanted me to make a new character!
-That's normal. Make a new one.

*If I make a new one, I won't have anything that I have on live, so why
bother?
-See above. If you're referring to your equipment, there's cheat stuff
that you can use to max your stats.

*I don't like goals!
-That's okay! You can help out just by being there. There are a lot of
nasty mobs in the area, so bodies are necessary.

*I don't want to multiplay.
-You can have your char logged in on live and on test port at the same
time. But it will be a bad idea to try to actively play on live while
testing this (you would probably die).

*I don't want to test it.
-You suck, especially if you are planning on checking it out when it goes
live.

*Really!? I didn't know it was that easy! I'm totally down! What should
I do now?
-Make a character on test port.

-Check out help testcommands and use those commands to make your character
into something appropriate for testing a difficult SH area. This means
making your char have max stats. If you aren't sure what that means, just
ask anyone on test port (imm channel works best) and they'll help you make
your char if you're unfamiliar with this.

-Cheat eq can be obtained when we get to the area, so don't worry about
that yet. You might want to buy a bp and weapons, though. You can give
yourself the qps to do this through test commands. It's very easy.

-Post a note on general that you want to test the area, what timezone you
are in, and the best time of day and week are best for you.

-If you want to be TOTALLY awesome, you can fill all of that information
out here: http://tinyurl.com/6wx9rl5 . Ignore the 'Need Eq Port' column.

Be there or be square!

...Also, there's another mini epic in the works, but it's not quite ready for
testing. But once it *is* ready, it will need your help too!

...And while you're there, don't forget to check out the Announce board
and 'help luaareas' to get an idea of what else is happening!
Mafia

As taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game) :

Mafia is a party game (also called Werewolf) modeling a battle between
an informed minority and an uninformed majority. Mafia is usually played
in groups with at least six players. During a game, players are divided
into two teams: 'Mafia members', who know each other; and 'honest people',
who know only the number of Mafia amongst them. The goal of both teams is
to eliminate each other.

After a long wait and lots of testing, Mafia has come to Aardwolf as a
coded part of the game. There is also a "mafiainfo" channel where new games
will be announced. For more information, check out "help mafia".

Enjoy, and let us know if you have any questions!

Aardwolf MUSHclient Development Snapshots
Note #977

First of all, thanks to everyone for all of the support and love over
the official Aardwolf Client Package.
It's been over two months now since we officially released the first
version and the feedback has been awesome.

I just want to remind and/or inform everyone that, though the official
release announcements don't happen very often (with good reason),
some degree of development happens pretty much every day.

If you're the sort of person who enjoys playing with beta software,
I encourage you to periodically check out the latest development snapshots
available at:
https://code.google.com/p/aardwolfclientpackage/downloads/list

Want to know what's new and exciting in a new update? Check out
the AardwolfPackageChanges.txt file in the MUSHclient folder.

I try to keep everything working, so you shouldn't worry too much
about me suddenly breaking the world, but it's useful for me
(and ultimately for you) to get feedback/suggestions/bug reports
early and often.

Found a problem? Enhancement suggestions and bug reports can be issued here:
https://code.google.com/p/aardwolfclientpackage/issues/list

Are you just extremely curious and want to track development?
You can find a list of every change and squished bug at
https://code.google.com/p/aardwolfclientpackage/source/list

And remember...
Only you and an anthropomorphic bear can prevent forest fires.
