A few times a week I help a newbie who is having odd issues like main window not displaying anything. The culprit is frequently the prompt fixer plugin. I can't imagine I'm the only one who helps with these issues, but I do think they can be a challenge diagnosing if you have never seen the problem before. I think by default newbies should have a %c at the end of their prompt. But I'd take it further it should be REALLY hard, if not impossible to have a prompt without a %c. Considering Mush is the recommended client and the vast majority use it, it just makes sense to have it as the default. If you really want to give people the option, have a %C option at the end of the prompt that is the only way to get a prompt without a carriage return.
Put prompt fixer OUT of a job!
